The Story Behind tigovit: Self-Funded, No Investors, Made in Germany

Most supplement brands you see online today were built the same way: raise money, find a contract manufacturer, slap a label on a generic formula, and spend the rest of the budget on ads. tigovit didn't start that way.

Where it started

tigovit came out of a simple frustration: green tea has one of the best-documented reputations of any plant-based ingredient, but most of the extracts on the market were either underdosed, poorly absorbed, or padded with fillers and additives that had nothing to do with the reason someone bought the product in the first place.

Rather than outsourcing the formula to a generic supplement manufacturer, tigogreen built tigovit from the ingredient sourcing up — testing raw materials from controlled cultivation, working with independent German labs, and refusing to cut corners on the extraction process just to hit a lower price point.

No outside investors

tigovit was funded and grown without venture capital. That's a deliberate choice, not a limitation we're working around. Investor money usually comes with growth targets that push a supplement brand toward cheaper ingredients, more aggressive marketing claims, and faster timelines than careful formulation allows.

Staying independent meant slower growth, but it also meant every decision about the formula, the sourcing, and the quality testing was made because it was the right call for the product — not because it needed to justify a pitch deck.

What “Made in Germany” actually means here

“Made in Germany” gets used a lot as a marketing shorthand. For tigovit, it's a description of an actual process:

• Raw materials from controlled, traceable cultivation
• Water-based extraction, without chemical solvents
• Independent laboratory testing throughout production, not just at the end
• Manufacturing and quality control done in Germany, not outsourced to the lowest bidder

None of this makes for a flashy label. It's also exactly why doctors, gynecologists, and holistic health practitioners in Germany have been comfortable recommending tigovit to their patients for years, well before it reached the US market.

Why we're telling you this

We're not the biggest name in green tea supplements, and we're not trying to be. We'd rather be the option that a health-conscious customer trusts because they looked closely — checked the sourcing, read the label, maybe even asked a doctor — and the answer held up.
