Depending on how it’s prepared, a cup of green tea contains roughly 20–100 mg of EGCG. The actual amount varies with the tea variety, steeping time, and water temperature. There is no fixed time of day to take tigovit and tigofem. However, it is recommended to take the capsules about one hour before or after a meal to support tolerance and absorption.

Since they contain green tea extracts—even if decaffeinated—it may be sensible to take them in the morning or at midday. Ideally, the last intake should be no later than 4 p.m. To avoid potential stomach sensitivity, do not take the products on an empty stomach, and, if necessary, spread the intake over the day.

tigofem contains, among other things, plant compounds such as isoflavones, which have a hormone-like structure. When taken simultaneously with hormonal contraceptives (e.g., the pill) or hormone replacement therapy (HRT), we recommend consulting a doctor beforehand.

Maximum daily dosage
When taking tigovit and tigofem, it is important not to exceed the recommended daily amount. The maximum amount of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) from green tea extract should not exceed 800 mg per day. This corresponds to a total of four capsules—whether from one of the products alone or a combination of both.

Timing with meals and medications
Ideally, take the capsules about one hour before or after a meal, but no later than 4 p.m. If taking medications or iron, magnesium, or calcium supplements at the same time, we recommend maintaining a minimum one-hour interval.

In combination with omega-3 fatty acids
Taking tigovit and tigofem together with high-quality omega-3 fatty acids can support the absorption of EGCG. Therefore, they can be effectively combined with an omega-3 oil.
